Last week the UK average for R4L steers was 337.6p while Scottish average was 347.1. Thus a Scotch premium of 9.5p /kg on a 370 kg carcase gives a £35.15 gain. We pay £4.20 slaughter levy and a small membership fee which only covers inspection cost, so to abandon the Scotch label must be wrong.
